I dislike celery and as such was not enthusiastic to try "Cel-Ray". We took a picture of it because I was incredulous that anyone thought that making a celery flavoured soda was a good idea and that other people agreed with that someone and then they did it.
It has enjoyed surprising popularity in New York, historically. I think it was probably invented back when people were too dazzled by the idea of a carbonated beverage to notice the flavor.
